1. Volunteer over Spring Break
Instead of the traditional spring break party vibe, you can join a volunteer effort abroad. There are so many ways you can volunteer. Our pick is IVHQ’s Peru - Lima volunteer program. It is affordable with fees starting at US$180 for one week. The city of Lima is one of South America’s largest, with vibrant sights and sounds to greet you on every corner. IVHQ offers four projects in Lima; Teaching English, Medical, Special Needs, and Construction and Renovation.
If this doesn’t sound amazing to you, check out Volunteerhq for a full list of volunteer opportunities.
2. California Coast Road Trip
It may not be as exotic as a trip abroad, but the Pacific Coast Highway is an exhilarating experience. You can start in the north, then travel to Santa Cruz, Monterey, and see the breathtaking views of the cliffs in Big Sur. The drive will take you south through vineyard-rich valleys of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. Continue on to Malibu, Santa Monica, Laguna Beach, and San Diego.
There are so many stops you can take along the way. Make the trip your own -- that’s the beauty of road trips. Maybe you prefer to stay in one place for a longer period of time. If you live far from California, find the most affordable airport to land in, rent a car, and start your adventure.
3. Enjoy Costa Rica
Costa Rica is gorgeous and it can also be relatively cheap for an International trip. There are limitless beaches where you can waterfall rappel, whitewater raft, and zip-line. If you book early, you should be able to find round trip tickets somewhere in the $400 to $500 range.

4. Spring Break in Cancun
This wouldn't be a real list of spring break destinations if it didn't include Cancun. Probably the most well-known destination with epic day parties, live music festivals, and inexpensive lodging. Not into partying all day? Cancun also offers excursions for friends and family. Go on a boat tour and see some of the most colorful sea life in the world. Rent a jet ski or go scuba diving. Be sure to bring sunglasses, sunblock, and Lagoa bikinis because that's probably all you'll be needing.
Check out Kayak.com or other search engines. You can probably find roundtrip tickets for under $300. STA travel offers party packages or you can just book on your own and create your own Spring Break adventure.
5. All Inclusives in Punta Cana
The Dominican Republic is an amazing destination that has everything you need to have an unforgettable trip. There’s plenty to do and everything you could want is at your fingertips. With many all-inclusive resorts like Barcelo Bavaro and Occidental Grand, you’ll never even have to leave your hotel. If you do choose to leave, the outdoor activities are some of the best in the Caribbean with a nearby tropical rainforest and activities like hiking, zip-lining, and ATVs.
Go Blue Tours offers discounted student airfare and has group deals for those travelling with more than 12 people.
